ATV riding in the Mojave Desert-8yrs postop

i am coming up on my 8th year anniversary from a 2-level trials Prodisc surgery. This past saturday i was ATV riding at Dove Springs, in the mojave desert. it's been at least 10 years since i last went off road riding, and i am sore, theres no doubt about it, my leg muscles, and arm muscles are mighty
sore, but i have to BOAST that my back came through with flying colors, and i still have absolutely no back disc or muscle issues. WOW is about all i can say. Our 1st ride was 48miles, and the 2nd ride was 26 miles. The weather couldn't have been any beter, it was sunny and clear and hovering around 85 degrees all day All in all i had a BLAST and expect to go again soon! Just had to share this experience with all my spiney friends.......sometimes there is a light at the end of our tunnels!!
:D

sounds great

That's wonderful that your back isn't complaining at all (and no other body parts complaining either!)!

I'm so happy about my back not bugging me one bit with my bicycle riding tho the max I've done so far is near 7 miles. My thighs were screaming bloody murder going up inclines tho the burning didn't last at all like it would have in the past and no residual pain from multiple short rides.

Somehow tho I doubt I'll get to 28 plus miles in anything but my SUV!

take care and bring on the boasting~ Your spine deserves it!!

We secretly make deals with ourselves that all we want is to get through a day with no pain but really hope to resume our daredevil ways. For some that's nothing more than shopping all day :) and for others it's jumping out of planes . Riding an ATV for 48 miles is somewhere inbetween but you got the whole package :D.

Yes Virginia, there is hope!

Two thumbs up - Dale
