Tahoe Fire

Just checking in to let you all know I live far from the fire in South Lake Tahoe. It is on the Southwest side and I live on the Southeast side of the Lake. It is one of the worst fires I have very seen and is our biggest nightmare coming true for our community. Just last Saturday I was riding my mountain bike through the area that the fire devastated. I can attest it is good fire conditions out there. My hearts go out to everyone that lost their homes and for those in the path of this monster. We are not out of the woods yet, please keep us in your prayers the next 3 days will be very difficult due to the high winds forecasted.

I remember the Simi fire a few years ago. It started near my brother's house in western Simi and spread to my son's house, eastern Simi, so quickly that by the time he got home to his dogs, all roads out of Simi were closed. The pictures of the black sky are ominous. It then spread to my house in the southern San Fernando Valley and then onto my other son in Valencia. No one knew where to go! I thought it might spread to yet my other son in Iraq:eek:

My heart goes out to all those who lost their homes and it breaks for the loss the entire area has/is suffering. Mother Nature will not be stopped.

Paulette, I hope the fire steer's clear of your home and pray no more homes are lost. Watching the news, it doens't even appear near containment.

My fingers are crossed.

Paulette... all clear? Did the fires get near you?

Talk to you soon,

Mark
