Sextant fusion system
Hi. Anyone have this? Dr. Filler, MD/PhD who has an office in Beverly Hills uses this and he's no intellectual slouch (but he did omit S-I joint problems in his wonderful "Do You Really Need Back Surgery". Another topic, I have no idea what his MRI neurography is, nor its veracity).
Medtronic CD HORIZON® SEXTANT™ Fact Sheet True, this company has had uh problems before but I'm just checking. Thanks and be well. - ans |

I have several clients with sextant fusions that go back many years. There are so many fusion techniques.... and so many 'less invasive' systems like the sextant. IMHO, just like with artificial discs... "if you are a good candidate and get a good job done, all will work"; I believe this to be true with the fusion systems too. With the correct diagnosis, if you get good fusion (and don't damage too much with the surgery) and you are likely to succeed.

Thanks Mark and so glad you're back!!
Do you have any positive feelings about minimally invasive fusion versus other methods - bearing in mind your above caveats? Appreciate your and everyone's time here who takes the time to answer. I"m a very lonely 90 year old and wish I could privately reimburse you for such.. |
