Default Neurontin to Lyrica

I'm not sure I'll make the switch this week since I just realized the holiday weekend is coming up however my PM sent me a script for Lyrica 75mg 2x/day (no directions) and I've been on Gabapentin (Neurontin) 1800mg/day for 12 years so... I asked the pharmacist how to make the switch and he said to just stop the Neurontin and start taking the Lyrica as the dosage of Lyrica was pretty equivalent to the Neurontin dosage.

Any thoughts here??

Default neurontin to lyrica

Hey Mark,
I take 1800mg/day of Neurontin and have been taking it all pretty much early a.m. like 4a.m. 600mg, and 7a.m. 600mg and noon time 600mg.

Before that I took 600mg in a.m. and 1200mg at p.m.

I'm supposed to take the Lyrica every 12 hours 75mg in a.m. and in p.m.

Default switching

If I thought there wouldn't be any "issues" I'd switch today but am afraid to run into more pain and stuff like that so thought I would do it after the holiday because I live alone and have to walk my dog and all that.

I have been late on a dose of Neurontin or just missed it because I thought I already took it and man did that feel bad!!! My legs really feel awful. They get very heavy and have deep burning crippling pain. They feel like they weigh 2 tons. It sucks.

So whatta ya think Mark?? I'm thinking next Tues or Weds, as I'll still have a weeks worth of Neurontin left over "just in case"....
