8 weeks out of surgery

Went to my 8 week check up yesterday. Dr Delamarter said everything looked good. I've been able to walk up to a mile. I've lowered my medication (norco) to 1 to 1 and a half per day. I will take half in the morning, and half at night before bed. I have had to take half in the middle in the day on occasion. For the most part, so far I feel a lot better than before the surgery. I would say my pain level is normally 0 to 1, has been up to maybe a 4 . Im still very restricted with my activities. I dont ever want to go through this again. The surgery was a lot harder than i expected, but so far worth it. I go back to see him in February.I might start physical therapy then. I just wanted to Check in and give you an update. Hope everyone has a good holiday

Joe, sounds like you are making good progress.

"The surgery was a lot harder than i expected" - yeah... you see some people have such and easy time, then others have such a terrible time recovering. The good news is that it doesn't matter if you bounce back in a few weeks or a few months... it only matters how you are for the years to come. A tough recovery doesn't mean you are not a wonderful success.

It's so cool that as tough as it's been, you can say you are much better than before surgery and you are still in recovery!

Thanks for keeping us posted!

All the best,

Mark

Hey JoeJoe,

Two thumbs up. I'd say you're doing great if after 2 months you're taking on 1 - 1 1/2 norcos a day. Walking a mile - I still can't do it after 5 years!

Looks like Santa (or whoever) certainly came through for you this year.:D

Enjoy!

Dale
