Selective endoscopic discectomy(aka. SED) with annuloplasty

Hi, i am heading for this procedure for my bad L4/L5. Have DDD there with annulars tears grade type 3. Already fighting with this 10 years...could not walk long, stand long, constant chronic pain. So my question is: did someone goes trough this surgery and what was the outcome? tnx :)

Sorry i have no info on this surgery , but would love your explanation if you can understand and translate what you know .
I just had a set of steriod injections in my lumbar area as it is getting worse and it was hurting pretty bad to walk.
When are you having this done?

SED for discogenic low-back pain is an endoscopic procedure which enables spine surgeon to visualize the disc, remove degenerated nucleus pulposis that is not allowing annulus to heal, ablate irritated nerve endings inside the disc, ablate ingrown granulation tissue and shrink the annular opening to prevent herniation at same level.

Point of all this is avoiding artificial disc replacement or fusion surgery. Obviously, not all patient are candidates for this procedure.

This procedure was pioneered by dr. Anthony Yeung.

I am very interested in this procedure as well. Scheduled a consult with a Dr. that performs this procedure for later this month to see if it would work for me.

Hi longroadahead and welcome to the forum,

I'm sorry for your pain but we've all walk(ed) in your shoes. Why don't you start a new thread and tell us a little bit more about yourself and what brought you here.

Either way, glad to have you join us.

Dale

My grandfather was suffering from the heart valve problem and two months ago the doctor recommended him annuloplasty surgery. Today he is fully recovered and fit from that disease.
