rhizotomy

Does anyone know the difference in a rhizotomy and a radiofrequency thermocoagulation & pulsed electromagnetic frequency procedure?

Are they the same?

I suppose someone will be able to answer than, but not me. Welcome to the forum

I believe that the word rhizotomy refers to ablation of a nerve such as the ones that perceive pain in our facets. (this is the most common use that we see in the internet spine patient community.)

Whether it's Rf ablation, pulsed RF ablation, laser chemical, thermal or physically severing the nerve with a scalpel describes the method of ablation.

My guess is that the short answer to your question is 'yes', but, don't assume anything or even put too much creedence in what you read on the internet... make your doctor answer questions like this.

Boot reffers to the same technique I think.

However, endoscopic rhizotomy is something different and much better because surgeons are able to identify and cut the nerve that transmits pain.

laser is better

rhizomtomy can fail or make it worse. laser procedure from a min invasive laser spine clininc may be the better opt.

Laser procedure (percutaneous) is blind procedure, and you don't know what are you burning. You don't have visibility.
