c4-c5 and c5-c6 osteophytes

i was suffering from pain on my right side from past 12 yrs, initally the pain was slight and occured only sometimes, but gradually it increased and 4 yrs back it was diagnoised as cervical spondylosis at c4-c5

when i get the pain , it goes in my head and becomes unbearable and sleep was th only solution which wuld relive me from the pain

along with medication i had taken acupressure and acupuncture
during the treatment i was feeling good
with acupressure i wuld get instant relief , but now i have stopped the treatment. slight pain occurs . but any day if i do heavy work or even carry a handbag on my right side i get unbearable pain.

few days back i again took a digital cervical spine x-ray which shows degenerative changes in cervical spine with anteriior and posterior osteophytes at c4-c5 & c5-c6

disc space within normal limits.

how serious is it?
any whts teh remedy? and precautions to be taken

Hello SVK, welcome to the forum!

Your doctors are clearly thinking neck... have they already, or do you think that other potential sources of the severe headaches should be ruled out? I've known many spine patients who have 'cervical headaches', but I think they come on gradually and don't get that severe on a regular basis. Some of them had the headaches resolved with cervical surgery, while others have tried (surgery) unsuccessfully.

You haven't mentioned MRI... If it were me, I'd want MRI results. Hopefully a fairly recent one and it must be after the onset of your new, severe symptoms.

Good luck to you. Please let is now when you have more info and try treatments. Your experience with cervical headaches may be useful to others.

All the best,

Mark
