Default Anyone shares these "neck pain" symptoms?

I have been disgnosed with cervical "degenerative disc disease" DDD in March of 2006. In December 2006, I decided to have laser surgery at LSI, in Tampa, Florida. Regretfully, the surgery was not successfull and I am in worse condition now then prior to surgery. Last week, I had several shots of the Prolotherapy treatment in the neck, addressing the neck ligaments, but I was told it would take several sessions before I would see a difference (if it works).

I want to know from members reading this who have my similar current symptoms:

1) Do you get constant spasms in the neck area?
2) Do you feel as if there is a vise-grip locked on your neck at all times?
3) Do you have difficulty rotating your neck to either left or right?
4) Do you have a feeling of "cogwheel", twitching and vibrating of the neck muscles when attempting to rotate your head?
5) Do you feel like you're having a hard time keeping your head up as if your head is too heavy?

.......if you share either some or all of the symptoms above, your input would be greatly appreciated, since at times I feel that I am the only person with these symtoms - your input would help me understand my problem better -God bless you.

As a result of a motor vehicle accident, c5/6 extruded; I now have foraminal stenosis at that level as well as 6/7, some central stenosis and other assorted stuff at those levels. My neck muscles are constantly in spasm; my range of motion in all directions, but especially looking up, is limited; I get all sorts of cracking and popping sounds. Pain radiates to upper back and down arms.
And my dominant arm is now weaker than the other.
You did not mention any tingling, numbness, electrical sensations, sensory loss and/or clumsiness in hands and arms--which are also usually part of the cervical picture.
From massages that have been successful in getting the trapezius muscles to relax, if only temporarily, I know that the muscle spasms are truly "guarding" the nerves: when the muscles relax, the electrical zingers and tingling are much worse.
I hope this provides some help to you.

I only experience 1 and 3 (at a low level), but my c-spine is not too bad. However, many of my cervical clients have described symptoms similar to everything you mention.
