Default Connecting through London? Beware!

If you are headed for Germany and connecting through London, beware... new policy is ONE carry-on bag. That does not mean a purse and a briefcase... if you have a purse... that's your bag. I came back Sunday and got on the plane in Munich with a lot of stuff... I had quite an ordeal getting it all sorted out, but I managed to make my flight and all the glassware from Bodenmais I was carrying made it intact. It was quite a zoo... everyone was throwing away things that they wanted to keep. If you had time, you could go buy a bag and check additional luggage (for an additional fee that is not cheap... if I did not have status because of miles, it would have cost me $140 to check a third bag... on top of the $50 that I had to pay for a low-end duffel bag!)

Be aware and make your trip easier...

Mark
