Distraction pain...
 

What are the signs and symptoms of distraction pain? I don't know if the (new) pain and stiffness I am having from my hips down is distraction pain or ??? I returned to work part-time in early January (nurse working in long term care).

I think that 'distraction pain' is a patient's term and is generally used to refer to surgery induced radicular pain. If your pain was from the original disctraction fo the disc space and possible stretching of the nerves, I don't think that the onset would be months after the surgery. There are some things that you might be considering.... have you asked your doc about anti-inflammatories? If your new activities are firing your pain, I hope that you can moderate your activities until you get it all sorted out.
