Lost posts?

I has been brought to my attention that it's not too uncommon for people to lose posts. Unfortunately, it happens when you are taking a long time to post. If the reason you were taking long is because you were writing a very long post, it is quite painful to see it go away.

You can usually recover the post by hitting the back key. Highlight your entire post by clicking into the posting box, pressing ctl-a (control a) to select all, the press ctl-c to copy it. You can paste it in later with ctl-v. Alternatively you can use (edit, select all); (edit, copy); (edit, paste) from the menus instead of the control sequences.

This should not have happened if you clicked "remember me" when you logged in. If you did not use "remember me", then your session will timeout if you stay in a screen for longer than 15 minutes. I have adjusted the timeout value to 45 minutes, so this should not happen unless you camp out for longer than that.

Please let me know if you have any difficulties using the system... Hopefully, I can get the issues resolved and make things easier for the user community.

All the best,

Mark

It happened to me yesterday. If I think my post will be long I actually type it out in word and just copy and paste. It catches my misspellings too!

if one uses Firefox browser it has a spell check built into it.
so when typing your reply it underlines mis spelled words. just like in word.
a little off topic but she said some thing about spell check.
