Looks like I'm out of the waterski picture this summer....my spleen is okay, but I've got a tumor growing on or near my left kidney. Surgery may be in my near future. If it ain't one darn thing its another. Mark asked me the other day if I grew up living under power lines - I didn't, but I'm starting to wonder where all this is coming from....

Crap... Diane is scheduled for surgery in mid-July. It looks like I may need knee surgery (left one this time). I have a miniscus tear and should have an MRI in the days to come. Hopefully it'll be small enough to leave alone. MRI will tell if I need surgery. The knee is stable, but if I move wrong, I get a momentary 10. I'm learning to avoid the motions that cause it.

Unfortunately, it looks like planning a water-ski trip next month isn't going to work. Maybe we can do something on short notice if things improve. I look at the pictures of Michele and can't wait to go...

How late in the season does it stay warm there... best time?

Mark

early July to late August water temps 78 to 85 degrees, and air temps 70 to 100 degrees. Should be pretty good all the way through September, water temp in the mid to upper 70's, depends on how much sun we are getting at the time, air temps 60's to 90's. Perfect year to visit MN due to an early dry spell most of the mosquito's, MN state bird, are non-existant, have not seen one all summer. we are on for last minute if that works for you.

October in the water here is only for the hearty, November is for the clinically insane. As I said earlier it really depends on how much sun we are getting. should I send you some video? otherwise youtube has some good footage of wakesurfing.

Mark,

I'm sorry to hear of your cervical problems and that Diane is for certain having surgery. I had both a lateral and medial meniscus taken care of by a small incision/scope. I was amazed that I was waking with a cane two days later vs. the old days when they'd give you a scar w/a long recovery time. I find that a meniscal tear w/haunt you until it's taken care of. And oh does it ever hurt when it locks - pain of 10-plus with subsequent painful synovial swelling.

Good luck in this. - Allan
