Question Kempinski Hotel Munich

Has anyone stayed at a hotel close to the Kempinski in Munich? We stayed at the Kempinski during our trip to Munich for a week in 2003. It was a fabulous hotel and they helped arrange many crucial tours (the BMW factory, Ludwig's Castle, etc.). We did a week of sightseeing before my operation. My operation was changed at the last minute to the Rudolfinerhaus Hospital in Vienna.

I would love to stay in the same area, as I want to surprise my wife with a night at the Opera down the street.

I'd be most grateful for any leads.

EDIT: I just noticed the Munich forum (of all places ) has some info.

In Munich, I like the am Markt... it's right in the middle of where you want to be and is very charming and reasonably priced. I've stayed at the Grand Kempenski at the airport, but I think you are talking about downtown Munich???

Do you know when you go yet?

Yeah, downtown Munich. Thanks for the am Markt suggestion...it looks to be sold out in early May. I've got to figure out when we are flying in, as I have a bone density test on 5/12 and I'm being admitted on 5/13 for surgery in Bogen on 5/14.

Do you have a preference between the places to stay in Bogen? They look similar and are extremely affordable.

Yes, they are all similar and priced within a few Euros of each other.
