I do not have lumbar issues (that I know of) but when my pain issues started I noticed exactly what you are describing. I never put the two together. It doesn't matter to me now though, I can't even pleasure myslef due to the pain. Sex is completely out of the question.
I hope someone else might chime in. It is interesting.
