Default ProDiscL - Distraction Pain ?

I am a new comer to the site. It is a credit to the to Administrators and users - it's really cathartic to read the stories, concerns, successes and fears. I am certainly not alone.

I had a ProDiscL inserted into my L4-5 on 13 November 2013 following more than 20 years of low level pain interspersed with debilitating episodes. I have been reluctant to undertake surgery for a number of reasons, but this year the frequency of my severe episodes led me to conclude that this this step was necessary to remain the person I want to be (non-surgical treatments having been exhausted).

My question - I have had neural pain in my left leg. My surgeon told me that he implanted the device 2mm to the left due to proximity to iliac vein but optimally on the sagital plane. My left leg had never been the problem. My pain has been discogenic and in the right leg characterised by numbness and mild loss of strength. These symptoms are gone, but the left leg has become the problem (numbness, pins and needles, burning sensation on the top of my foot).

Does anyone have a similar experience, if so was it temporary?

Thanks
