Melissa,
Is it your same pain? Same intensity? Not as bad? Worse? I do know people with successful healing of some pretty bad herniations. Not sure if it's the tear healing or the protrusion shrinking. read here: "Back" into life without surgery!

Melissa, I had an annular tear in 1998 which caused me a great deal of pain. I did get better (never 100%) and my MRI after that injury did not show a tear. So I was told I had healed with conservative measures. When I had a large herniation it was where I had had the annular tear.I think it depends on who you talk to and there school of thought as to whether they heal or not. I personally don't think my ever did as I have had back and leg pain to a certain extent ever since the annular tear.
