Geoff,
Normally, for the AK, I usually stay at the Sheraton or Holiday Inn because they are so close and convenient for the clinic. Lately, I've been experimenting a bit and have enjoyed Hotel am Markt because it's right on the Market Square at Marienplatz. On my recent trip, I only spent one night in Munich and we stayed at Eden Hotel Wolff, right across the street from the train station. It was very nice, but the train station is not really where you want to be. Munich is tough this time of year because Oktoberfest really ups the demand for hotels and getting a deal becomes pretty tough. I wish I had more info for you. It's really a shame that Munich hotels are so expensive... the pensions out in the small towns will run about 30 to 35 Euros for single and 45 to 50 Euro for a double. The Sheraton is nice, but even if you can get the AK rate, it's up to 153??? You might call them directly and see about Auto Club rate... possible on weekends for under 100 (except Oktoberfest demand may defeat this.) All the best, Mark
