When I showed up he spotted a shifting of L5 on flexion. Retook the xrays, same thing. He says that by putting ADR there I might end up with more or new pain or possible device pailure in the future....

Second opinion on the ADR question is worth it before you concider a fusion surgery. Don't rush. Be careful with your neck and you will be ok until you can make an educated decision.
