I looked into prolotherapy for my knee several years ago. The only positive I came away with was it was too early in the injury and to come back in a few months if nothing else worked. I did not.

The office staff sounded rehearsed in every interaction and made me think of the doctor who treats accident victims where everyone in the waiting room is wearing a cervical collar, needed or not. Then I was charged more for the consultation than quoted over the phone. You can't imagine the bruhaha when I refused to pay the $25 more. Kind of makes me feel that the whole prolotherapy thing isn't all it's cracked up to be. Just my opinion.

Slipping Rib Syndrome, or Tietze Syndrome, is the benign inflammation of one or more costal cartilages. This is what causes the horrible, heart-attack mimicking pain that many people with thoracic spine problems experience.

On Prolotherapy...IMHO, stay away, very far away. Injecting unknown, foreign substances, often with proprietary forumlations, is not high on my list of things to do to my body. Some less savory practicioners have even been known to inject industrial chemicals

If you are experiencing slipping rib syndrome, I would suggest seeing a chiropractor (DC, DABCO or DC, DACBSP) or physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who can provide you with strengthening exercise regimines, along with manipulation and therapeutic modalities to help resolve this issue.
