Default left message to cancel/reschedule surgery

OK Everyone.. I'm the biggest wimp when it comes to more spine surgery and my back has been torturous since getting this foot surgery done unless I'm up and walking and or taking meds as I should (not forgetting dose)...

So, next step after a period of recovery with Left foot surgery is right foot surgery and then back surgery. I may even go in on the tail end of recovery from 2nd foot surgery (bunionectomy and hammertoes) so I'll be in some really good pain for it~

Mark, you're right, I'm an accident waiting to happen...

left, right, back... sounds like my focus when I try to dance. (you know I can't dance since my surgery - although I dance better than ever...it's still bad.)

I'm so sorry that you need to push things out. Whatever order makes sense to you...

Mark

PS... I don't think you are clumsy... you can dance better than me... even with both feet and back in recent post-op shape...

Maria,

I'm sorry for all your feet problems. What good is back surgery if you can't walk in the first place. I do hope that you don't cancel but that you reschedule. Though we've seen proof on this forum that backs can indeed heal themselves with some of your help, and you are doing better, you are also still on meds... so there is still something wrong. I hope you reschedule but also realize that you must do what's good for you and you alone. I wish you well,

Dale

Hi Maria,

Well, they say that timing is everything. You will know when you are ready. And once recovered, I hope you are dancing with Mark.

Poncho

Default dancing

I can dance! Yes, I can. That was something I found out this past year as I started to actually move my body again ~ as well as doing some other things I hadn't done in YEARS! Same dosage of meds, actually no ESI since Oct last year.

Well, timing may be everything and I vacillate (sp) between I'm OK with my meds to a large degree but could I be better after surgery and off meds which would be sooo great. This Methadone and laxatives and whatever else I take here and there gets on my nerves big time tho then again, I've had some quality of life the last 6 months.

Afraid to give that up ~ so yes, timing is everything and I think I will know the right time, at least I hope I will. That is not to say that everything will come together as I plan it tho I can only hope I will be resolute in my decision at that time. Wish I didn't have to SCHEDULE surgery but could have it when I feel like CRAP!!!!

Thanks all for input. No answer from Dr.D's office yet. Wonder if they got the message. Wonder if I should call back? Probably status quo for this office not to respond within the couple of days?

Default You gotta do what you gotta do

Hi Maria,

What a roller coaster you've been on! Hopefully in a couple of years this will all be past history.

I'm in the same boat - had to cancel my cervie surgery 3 times and now have to have a knee replacement AND foot surgery (and I'm not THAT old...). The knee is next week, we'll see after that whether it's neck or foot.

Good luck with the feet and I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well and your back hangs in there til its turn to go under the knife.
