Default Well, I'm inspired now.

Sorry to hear about the denial Kathy.

After reading all the advice here, I am encouraged. I had not even thought about applying to have my insurance company pay (BCBS of NC). I had just accepted that I would have to pay the $8000 (for the disc and supplies needed for that part of the surgery, since I was looking at hybrid surgery), if I chose to go that route. It would be great if I could get them to pay.

46 years old. 12-15 years of intermittent pain, 2 years with constant pain.

DDD, L4-5 and L5-S1, pain confirmed by discogram.
PT, ESI's, Facet injection and block, Acupuncture - all no help.

2-level (Prodisc-L) ADR surgery with Dr. Bertagnoli, May 26, 2009.

Currently taking Opana-ER (tapering off) and oxycodone

I am pretty sure that I have heard of BCBS paying for ADR. I think that is what Terry has that paid for his and he is in Michigan; he had surgery in Germany and got it paid for. You might pm him to make sure my information is correct.

Numerous MRI's, PT, chiropractic, accupuncture, TENS therapy, massage therapy, facet injections, epidural injections, Nerve study, Discogram, confirms pain in L4/5, IDET, decompression, Bi-lateral neurotomy L3/4/5, denied by insurance twice, in Active L clinical trial, had surgery March 17, 2009 in Miami, FL- received Active L disc
Had Baby #3 after ADR!
